Fort Worth Men Die in Wreck

Two men were unfortunately killed early on Sunday morning in the 1000 block of Macon Street.

Angel Zungia, 24, of Arlington and Juan Rodriguez, 24, of Grand Prairie were riding in a vehicle traveling southbound at a high rate of speed at 2:30 a.m. when it suddenly veered off the road, hit a curb, and crashed head-on into a tree.

The men were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital for treatment.

What a horrible story and a waste of precious human lives.

I can’t help but wonder if the driver was intoxicated, his passengers knew that he was, and if they had been drinking. Under Texas law, a person is not allowed to get into a vehicle if he knows or should know that the driver is intoxicated, then claim that driver was at fault — not that it matters now.

This story reminded me of a case I just concluded where a wonderful young woman, Bethany, was a passenger in a car that also crashed head-on into a tree. No alcohol was involved. I was able to obtain all of the insurance proceeds that were available from several policies, then reduce the outstanding medical bill lien held by her family’s insurance company to zero Please click here to see video, read about Bethany’s story – especially what an amazing job our JPS Hospital did to save her life..
