Today is North Texas Giving Day. Berenson Injury Law is continuing its long tradition of supporting our community. We are making donations to these charitable organizations ministering to those who need it the most.
The Women’s Center of Fort Worth
The Women’s Center was founded in 1979 (coincidentally the year Mr. Berenson graduated from law school in Dallas) to help people deal with crises, poverty, and violence.
This amazing place has helped hundreds of thousands of women, children, and yes, men, who badly need assistance. The dedicated staff helps them heal from the trauma of sexual assault, find employment, and deal with personal crises that threaten their physical and mental health. The Center transforms lives.
It also sponsors a legal clinic Mr. Berenson has participated in and his wife has volunteered for its Hot Line which offers counseling to victims.
Child Study Center
The Child Study Center is sponsored by our wonderful Cook Children’s Hospital. It occupies the Hospital’s original location on Lancaster Avenue on the western edge of downtown.
Since 1962, the Center has helped our most precious resource — our children — who have developmental disabilities and behavior disorders.
The Center works with children as young as 18 months old and even operates its own school.
Doctors and nurses evaluate and test youngsters who exhibit learning, language, medical, social skills, and behavior issues.
The staff offer medical and psychological services, speech and physical therapy, and emotional support.
PetSmart Adoption Program
Mr. Berenson and his wife found their sweet cat Lucy from the PetSmart near Hulen Mall and helping abandoned dogs and cats is one of their favorite charitable projects.
PetSmart has placed almost seven million of them since 1994 — and made seven million families much happier in the process.
It is sad to think about all of these animals that do not have shelter or food.
Here is a list of the dogs and cats that are just waiting for you to take them home and brighten up your life.
So many worthy causes
These non-profit groups need money now more than ever due to the increased burdens and cutbacks caused by the pandemic. God bless them for all that they do.
