A horrifying collision yesterday just south of Waco left one man dead and many people injured. The chain reaction involved 13 vehicles, including four 18 wheelers, and shut down the interstate for 10 hours.
This tragic accident reminded me of one almost exactly two years ago about 10 miles away on I-35. I represented a University of Texas
junior crashed into by a tractor trailer on the Sunday after Thanksgiving as she was driving back to Austin from her home in Fort Worth. J____ suffered serious personal injuries. I had immediately sent my investigator down to the scene three times and I went once to do an exhaustive analysis, meet with police officers, take statements, photograph the seven vehicles and the scene, and download engine data. That proved that the trucker had not applied his brakes until one second before impactFurther, he was driving in a construction zone with his cruise control on.
Once I had the evidence I needed, I immediately filed suit. A large Dallas law firm defended the trucker and his company. After prosecuting tthe case, I was able to settle on very favorable terms at a mediation just before trial.
I have been representing the victims of trucking collisions for over 32 years here in Texas and in other states and I know what it takes to prosecute these cases. If you have unfortunately been involved in a collision with an 18 wheeler, please call or email me. I will fight to get you the money that you deserve.
