I went to court this morning to finalize a law suit where my client and his eight year old son, who were driving in a Ford 150, were in a collision when a rock truck outside of Cleburne ran a stop sign about a year ago.
The father and son fortunately only suffered minor injuries. Both were taken to the ER, had
x-rays taken, then released and quickly recovered.
I am pleased that I was able to get $30,000.00 for the son and $10,000.00 for the father, in addition to Personal Injury Protection benefits of $5,000.00. The defense attorney from Dallas called these amounts “excellent” and the excellent judge said they were far more than she had seen in the past few years.
And I also greatly reduced the amount of money they needed to repay the father’s health insurance company.
All in all, it was a generous recovery of money, and I was happy to have been of service to this fine family. I had previousy represented the man’s mother, his sister, and his nephew — twice — in motor vehicle collisions.
These were hardly the largest recoveries I have received for my clients in these kinds of cases, but considering the minor injuries, my clients more than got the money they deserved.
